QWOCMAP University delivers the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project’s award-winning video training program online! Our distance learning courses support the expansion of QWOCMAP workshops to include geographically underserved communities.QWOCMAP U provides an e-learning environment to nurture emerging filmmakers who are Asian/Pacific Islander, African American, Latina, Native American and Mixed-Race lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning women. These online resources are offered free of charge to increase the visibility of queer women of color, authentically reflect our life stories, and address the vital social justice issues that concern our communities.
Filmmaker Training Program

An intense, demanding and disciplined introductory digital-video production workshop. Students will develop creative and technical skills, understand basic film/video terminology & technique, and produce a 5-minute video, from beginning to end. Topics covered include development of film idea, script writing, storyboarding, production planning, cinematography, crew positions, directing cast/subjects, and editing.
