Terms and Conditions

Last updated: April 28, 2026

Welcome to the QWOCMAP website. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree,
please don’t use the site. We’ve kept this as straightforward as possible.

Who We Are

Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project-QWOCMAP is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California. When we say “we,” “us,” or “our” in these terms, we mean QWOCMAP. When we say “you,” we mean anyone using this website.

Our website includes qwocmap.org and any associated subdomains, as well as content we host through third-party platforms like Eventive (film viewing) and NeonCRM (donations and registration).

Using This Site

You can browse our website, read about our programs, and watch film trailers without creating an account. Some activities require registration or providing personal information, including donating, registering for the film festival, submitting a film, applying for a program, or accessing our film catalog through Eventive.

When you use this site, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when registering, donating, or applying.
  • Use the site for lawful purposes and in a way that respects other users.
  • Not attempt to access restricted areas of the site, interfere with its operation, or use automated tools to scrape content.
  • Not upload harmful content, including malware, spam, or material that violates someone else’s rights.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms.

Accounts

Some features of our site may require you to create an account, including through Eventive (for film viewing) or NeonCRM (for donor profiles). You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account.

If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us at info@qwocmap.org.

Films and Intellectual Property

Our content

The QWOCMAP name, logo, website design, written content, graphics, and other materials on this site are owned by QWOCMAP or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Films in our catalog

The films in QWOCMAP’s catalog are the intellectual property of their respective filmmakers. QWOCMAP distributes these films under agreements with the filmmakers. When you view a film through our site or Eventive, you’re granted a personal, non-commercial viewing license. You may not record, download, redistribute, publicly screen, or otherwise reproduce any film without explicit written permission from QWOCMAP and the filmmaker.

Your content

If you submit a film through FilmFreeway, apply for a program, or otherwise share content with us, you retain ownership of your work. By submitting, you grant QWOCMAP a non-exclusive license to use your submission for the purposes described in the relevant application or submission form, including screening, promotion, and archival.

Donations and Payments

Donations to QWOCMAP are processed through NeonCRM and its integrated payment processors. QWOCMAP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Refund policy

Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error or was unauthorized, contact us at info@qwocmap.org within 30 days and we’ll work with you to resolve it.

Recurring donations

If you set up a recurring (monthly) donation through the Producers Circle or other giving programs, you can cancel at any time by contacting us or through your NeonCRM donor profile. Cancellation takes effect for the next scheduled payment.

Program Applications

Applying to a QWOCMAP program (Film & Freedom Academy, Critical Juncture, QTWork, or others) does not guarantee acceptance. Program selection is at QWOCMAP’s discretion based on the criteria described on each program’s page.

Information you provide in your application will be used for selection purposes and, if you’re accepted, for program administration. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

Community Standards

QWOCMAP’s events, programs, and online spaces are governed by our working agreements and community care practices, described in Collective Care.
We expect everyone who interacts with QWOCMAP — online or in person — to treat others with respect and to honor the safety and dignity of our communities.

We reserve the right to remove anyone from our events or online spaces who violates our community standards, including our policies on harassment, discrimination, and sexual safety.

Third-Party Platforms and Links

Our site includes content from and links to third-party platforms, including Eventive (film viewing), NeonCRM (donations), FilmFreeway (film submissions), and Canvas LMS (program coursework). These platforms have their own terms of service and privacy policies. When you use them, their terms apply in addition to ours.

We also link to external websites, including Community Partner organizations, funders, and resources. We’re not responsible for the content or practices of sites we link to, however, we do work to make sure these organizations are in alignment with our mission and values.

Disclaimers

We do our best to keep this site accurate and up to date, but we can’t guarantee that everything is always current or error-free. The site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

QWOCMAP is not responsible for any harm resulting from your use of this site, including technical issues, data loss, or reliance on information published here. Our total liability to you for any claim related to this site is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the past 12 months (if any).

Accessibility

QWOCMAP is committed to making our website accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site, please let us know at info@qwocmap.org so we can address it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. For significant changes, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify you.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. We’d rather talk than litigate.
