About working with QWOCMAP Productions

Fill out the Productions Request Form above with a few details about your project, and we'll reach out to schedule a conversation. The more context you can share up front (timeline, audience, goals, budget range) the closer we can get to your goals through productive discussion.

We're based in San Francisco and regularly work throughout the Bay Area. Travel for production shoots is possible depending on project scope and budget. Let's talk through what your project needs.

Yes. Our productions engage QWOCMAP Filmmakers who have completed our programs, creating both high-quality content and meaningful community impact.

Pricing is handled case by case, based on project scope, length, deliverables, and crew requirements. Reach out through the form above and we'll set up a conversation to scope your project and share an estimate.

Both, but they're different services. This page is about creating new work with us. To screen or license films from our catalog of 515+ films by LBTQIA+ people of color, visit Watch Films → Distribution. For curated screenings designed around your event, visit Services → Bring QWOCMAP to You.

Every project starts with a conversation to understand your story, audience, and goals. From there, we move through concept and story development, filming and production, editing and sound, and final delivery, staying in close collaboration with you at each stage. Timelines vary by project scope and length: short-form work like PSAs, testimonials, and event documentation can run a few weeks to a few months, while longer-form films take much longer. We'll scope a realistic timeline with you at the start.

Our clients include nonprofits, foundations, arts organizations, and individual artists. Past clients include Funders for Immigrant and Refugee Issues, San Francisco Women Against Rape, and the 7th Generation Fund for Indian Development.

We produce films, PSAs, training videos, testimonials, documentation of events and organizational milestones, sample work for filmmakers, and short-form media for campaigns. Our work ranges from full-service films (concept through final delivery) to specific production services within a larger project.

QWOCMAP gives communities of people that do not typically have a voice in mainstream media a chance to find their voice and be heard. QWOCMAP opens doors. And those of us that have somehow managed to be so lucky to make it in are opening up more doors.

I recently became a recipient of a Princess Grace Award in Film and I think that has so much to do with how QWOCMAP is able to shape artists and lmmakers to tell their own truth and to believe in their work. Those are very powerful lessons to learn.

Having had that community of queer women of color filmmakers has been the foundation of my resolve to face the sexist, racist, and homophobic perspectives of the larger filmmaking community. It is very easy to become lost within the confines of one’s present world, and I always think back to QWOCMAP to find my way back to me.
