“Watching the film, one of the things that’s very dear to me is my brother, who was raised with my mother, he has a different father. So we didn’t grow up in the same household. But he has a wonderful love for me and appreciation for all of the things I missed by not growing up with our mother. And I’m always very touched when I watch the film to see my brother Phil really love and appreciate me, and appreciate the difficulties, and how that has informed my writing and activism today.”
